Air Navigation and Transport (Indemnities) Bill 2005

Allows the Minister for Transport, with the Minister for Finance’s consent, to provide government-backed cover to airlines, private and corporate aircraft, airports and essential aviation service providers when terrorism-related insurance is unavailable. The cover can last up to 12 months, may be charged for, and exposes the State to potential claims of up to €9 billion.
