Social Welfare and Pensions Bill 2005

Raises Child Benefit, improves support for carers and people with disabilities, increases the Respite Care Grant, and makes more savings and capital eligible for means-tested welfare payments. It also updates pension rules, including stronger oversight of occupational pension schemes, investment safeguards, trustee requirements and arrangements for pension schemes operating across EU countries, while making several technical changes to social welfare administration.
