Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) Bill 2005
Public bill · Government · Presented
The Bill would allow Ireland to ratify and apply the updated Eurocontrol agreement, strengthening European cooperation on air-traffic management while preserving Ireland’s control over its own airspace and security. It would update the Irish Aviation Authority Act 1993, enable enforcement of common European traffic-flow rules, remove obsolete aircraft-detention provisions and modernise Eurocontrol-related penalties.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to give effect to the International Convention relating to Co-operation for the Safety of Air Navigation signed at Brussels on 13 December 1960, as consolidated by the Protocol signed at Brussels on 27 June 1997 and for that purpose to amend the Irish Aviation Authority Act 1993 and to provide for related matters.
