Tribunals of Inquiry Bill 2005

Creates a modern framework for public inquiries into matters of urgent and significant public importance, replacing earlier laws. It sets rules for tribunals’ powers, evidence, legal representation, costs, reporting and publication, while allowing the Government, with parliamentary approval, to suspend or dissolve an inquiry and requiring early estimates of its likely cost and duration.
