Road Traffic and Transport Bill 2006
Public bill · Government · Presented
The Bill would make drink-driving enforcement more straightforward by removing an extra Garda assessment before evidential testing and allowing designated nurses to take blood or urine samples at Garda stations. It would also put the Transport Minister’s power to license road haulage and passenger-transport operators on a clear legal footing, requiring applicants to have a good reputation, adequate finances and professional competence.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend Part III of the Road Traffic Act 1994 and to make provision for the Minister for Transport to grant licences to road haulage and road passenger transport operators and to provide for connected matters
