Road Traffic (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2006
Public bill · Private Member · Presented
The Road Traffic (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2006 would strengthen road-safety rules by requiring at least a six-month driving ban for dangerous driving and breath-testing drivers involved in crashes. It would allow future testing for drugs and other intoxicants, limit early removal of driving bans to extraordinary circumstances, and require victims or their families to be notified about applications and decisions. Fines would also be adjusted automatically for inflation.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Road Traffic Acts 1961 to 2006 and to provide for the indexation of fines for road traffic offences
