Foyle and Carlingford Fisheries Bill 2006
Public bill · Government · Presented
The Foyle and Carlingford Fisheries Bill 2006 would give the Foyle, Carlingford and Irish Lights Commission wider responsibility for inland fisheries and aquaculture in the Foyle and Carlingford areas. It would create a licensing system for fish farms, with environmental information requirements, licence conditions, inspections, offences and an independent appeals board. It would also update fishing rules and enforcement powers, including controls on commercial netting, fishing permits, poaching, pollution, fishing equipment and penalties, while allowing the Commission to improve angling facilities and protect fish stocks.
