Roads Bill 2007
Public bill · Government · Presented
The Roads Bill 2007 would enable barrier-free tolling on national roads, allowing cameras to record vehicles and imposing extra charges on people who fail to pay. It would also allow certain high-standard roads to be designated as motorways, support new roadside service and rest areas, and update road-management powers and penalties. Taxi regulation would be strengthened by licensing dispatch operators, extending fare controls to hackneys and limousines, increasing some fines and allowing fixed-charge penalties for certain offences.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Roads Acts 1993 to 2001, the Taxi Regulation Act 2003 and certain provisions of the Road Traffic Acts 1961 to 2006 and to provide for connected matters
