European Parliament and Local Elections (Voting at 16) Bill 2007

The proposal would lower the voting age to 16 for European Parliament and local elections. Sixteen-year-olds living in the relevant area could register to vote; European elections would be open to Irish citizens and citizens of other EU member states, while local elections would be open to all qualifying residents.
