Updates Ireland’s rules for investment firms and financial markets to meet new EU standards, strengthens Central Bank supervision, and introduces penalties of up to €10 million or 10 years’ imprisonment for serious breaches. It also expands investor compensation protections and requires retail credit and home-reversion businesses to be authorised and supervised, helping protect customers. Other measures make technical changes to credit unions, public finances, insurance, pensions, ministerial pensions and Ordnance Survey Ireland.
