Defeated Dáil
No. 35 of 2007

Electoral (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2007

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The proposal would allow Dáil elections to be held on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, rather than restricting polling to existing arrangements. The Minister would choose the polling day, between 18 and 25 days after the election writ is issued, potentially making it easier for people to vote outside the working week.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to provide for polling for Dáil elections to be held on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday and for that purpose to amend the Electoral Act 1992
