Communications Regulation (Amendment) Bill 2007
Public bill · Government · Presented
The Communications Regulation (Amendment) Bill 2007 would give the communications regulator stronger powers to investigate and enforce telecoms rules, demand information and evidence, tackle overcharging, protect whistleblowers, and impose heavier penalties for serious breaches. It would establish and regulate an emergency call-answering service, give the regulator responsibility for overseeing Ireland’s `.ie` internet domain, and let it investigate competition-law breaches in the communications sector.
