No. 24 of 2008

Freedom of Information (Amendment) Bill 2008

Public bill · Private Member · Presented

The proposal would widen freedom-of-information rights to more publicly funded or controlled bodies, including the Gardaí, while requiring clearer information to be published online. It would also strengthen correction and appeal procedures, prevent records being destroyed to avoid disclosure, and allow authorities to reject persistently abusive requests or protect other people’s personal information.
