Vocational Education (Primary Education) Bill 2008

The bill would allow the Education Minister to give vocational education committees responsibility for establishing and running primary schools. Those committees would become the schools’ official patrons, with the change treated as effective from 1 January 2007; the Minister could set conditions and later amend or cancel the arrangements.

Bill entitled an Act to enable the conferral on vocational education committees of functions in relation to the establishment and maintenance of primary schools; for that purpose to amend the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act 2001; and to provide for connected matters.
