Planning and Development (Enforcement Proceedings) Bill 2008

Would require serious planning offences linked to profitable land development and involving at least €30,000 in increased land value to be prosecuted in higher courts rather than through the quicker summary process. Where deliberate breaches led to convictions or enforcement orders, courts could also bar people for up to five years from obtaining related planning permission or managing land-development companies.
