European Union Bill 2009
Public bill · Government · Presented
The European Union Act 2009 would give the Lisbon Treaty effect in Irish law and update references to the European Communities to reflect the European Union. It would also give the Oireachtas powers to object to certain EU treaty changes, scrutinise proposed EU laws and ask the EU Court to review measures that breach subsidiarity, while keeping related Irish regulations up to date.
