Consumer Protection (Gift Vouchers) Bill 2009

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

Gift vouchers would have to remain valid for at least five years after being sold. Selling a voucher with a shorter expiry period would be prohibited and could be an offence, while consumers could seek compensation for breaches. The measure aims to give people more time to use vouchers and increase confidence in buying them.
