Companies (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2009
Public bill · Government · Presented
The Bill would temporarily allow certain newly established Irish parent companies—particularly those reporting to the US Securities and Exchange Commission—to prepare accounts using US accounting standards, provided they still comply with Irish company law. The permission would last up to four financial years and end by 31 December 2015; the Minister could also approve other recognised international standards. It would also remove the €317,435 cap on costs that applicants for court investigations into company affairs might have to pay, leaving courts free to require them to cover some or all of the costs.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide, in limited circumstances, for the transitional use by certain parent undertakings of internationally recognised accounting standards other than those generally accepted accounting principles and policies used in the State, to amend the Companies Act 1990 and to provide for related matters
