Inland Fisheries Bill 2009
Public bill · Government · Presented
The Inland Fisheries Bill 2009 would create a single national body, Inland Fisheries Ireland, replacing the Central Fisheries Board and seven regional boards. It would give the new body responsibility for protecting, managing and improving inland fisheries and sea angling, while absorbing the functions of the National Salmon Commission and eight fisheries co-operatives. The Bill would also carry over existing licences, contracts, staff and fishing rights, update the legal framework, strengthen accountability through plans, reports and audits, and raise outdated fines, including introducing or updating on-the-spot penalties for minor offences.
Formal long title
