Competition (Amendment) Bill 2010

Allows the Minister to appoint temporary members to the Competition Authority when a position becomes vacant. These appointments require relevant expertise or experience, normally last up to six months, and may be extended by up to another six months, helping the Authority continue operating while a permanent appointment is made.
