Welfare of Greyhounds Bill 2010

Sets welfare standards for greyhounds used in racing and coursing, including identification, tracing ownership, welfare codes and limits on breeding. Female greyhounds must be at least 15 months old before breeding, while establishments with four or more breeding females must register. Welfare officers could inspect premises, issue directions, impose penalties and, in extreme cases, order the destruction of greyhounds suffering severe pain, distress or neglect.
