Environment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2011

The Bill would increase penalties for air-pollution offences, introduce fixed-payment notices for breaches involving banned fuels such as bituminous coal, and make relevant information more accessible under freedom-of-information rules. It would also allow higher plastic-bag and landfill levies and create a levy on waste sent to incineration, encouraging waste reduction, recycling and diversion from landfill.
