The measure restores the national minimum wage to €8.65 an hour and temporarily halves certain employer PRSI and training-fund contributions for lower-paid workers, while making changes linked to the Jobs Initiative and the EU/IMF programme. It raises the State pension age to 67 in 2021 and 68 in 2028, ends the transition pension for new claimants from 2014, transfers administration of supplementary welfare payments to the Department of Social Protection, and strengthens fraud and identity-card controls. It also introduces new funding and reporting requirements for certain occupational pension schemes.
