Reduction in Pay and Allowances of Government and Oireachtas Members Bill 2011

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The proposal would cut the pay and allowances of TDs, Senators, Government members, parliamentary office-holders and people holding specified positions in the Dáil and Seanad. It would do this by amending existing legislation on emergency public-interest financial measures. Sponsored by Pearse Doherty as a Private Member’s Bill, it aims to reduce the cost of political office and reflect the financial pressures facing the State.

Formal long title
