Statistics (Heritage Amendment) Bill 2011

Public bill · Private Member · Presented

The proposal would give the 1926 census—the first census taken after the State was established—special heritage status. It would remove the usual restriction on releasing it, allowing the records to be made public for genealogy, historical research and other study.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to amend the Statistics Act 1993, in relation to the first census of population of Ireland taken since the establishment of the State; to afford that census a special heritage status and to have such released to the public for genealogical, historical and other research
