Electoral (Amendment) Bill 2011

The Electoral (Amendment) Bill 2011 would require a Dáil by-election to be called if a seat remained vacant for more than six months, and guide constituency planning towards a Dáil of 152–160 members. It would also reduce presidential-election spending limits from €1.3 million to €750,000 and cut the maximum reimbursement of candidates’ expenses from €260,000 to €200,000.
