Dormant Accounts (Amendment) Bill 2011

The Bill would dissolve the Dormant Accounts Board and transfer its responsibilities for distributing money from the Dormant Accounts Fund to the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government. The money would still support people who are economically, socially or educationally disadvantaged, or who have a disability, with new government-approved schemes and annual action plans setting priorities, available funding and application rules. It would also strengthen reporting and oversight, including published plans, Oireachtas scrutiny, annual reports and audited final accounts for the former Board.
