Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (Amendment) Bill 2011
Public bill · Government · Presented
The measure would extend public-sector pay cuts and pension deductions to serving judges and military judges, with judicial pay reductions of 8% to 15% from January 2012. It would set lower salaries for newly appointed judges and some public officeholders, apply pension deductions to Central Bank pensioners, clarify pension rules for former public servants, and remove new judges’ automatic entitlement to an usher or crier. The changes were expected to save about €5.5 million immediately.
