Bretton Woods Agreements (Amendment) (No.2) Bill 2011

Ireland would approve its acceptance of an IMF amendment replacing the system of appointed and elected Executive Directors with a board of 20 Directors, all elected by IMF member countries. Elections would continue every two years, and the IMF’s Board of Governors could change the board’s size with an 85% majority; related provisions would manage the transition to the new system.
