National Asset Management Agency (Amendment) Bill 2011
Public bill · Government · Presented
The Bill would let NAMA quickly acquire certain pre-2009 bank loans of €20 million or less, mainly property-related loans, using a simplified valuation process and allowing banks to continue managing them. It would require banks to cover related legal costs and losses caused by inaccurate information, with possible future tax surcharges if NAMA ultimately loses money on these assets.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to amend the National Asset Management Agency Act 2009 to make provision for the National Asset Management Agency to acquire certain bank assets expeditiously; to make consequential amendments to that Act; and to provide for matters connected therewith
