Misuse of Motor Vehicles (Public Spaces) Bill 2012

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The proposal would allow the Minister for Transport, after consulting the Minister for Justice, to make rules allowing Gardaí to detain, remove, store, release or dispose of motor vehicles being driven in local-authority parks and other open public spaces, except on designated roads. It is intended to tackle vehicles being used where driving is not permitted, giving Gardaí clearer powers to deal with the problem.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to give powers to an Garda Síochána to deal with the use of motor propelled vehicles in areas designated public spaces by local authorities
