Social Welfare Bill 2012
Public bill · Government · Presented
The Social Welfare Bill 2012 would reduce several payments and supports, including Child Benefit, the Respite Care Grant and means-tested assistance for farmers and fishers. It would shorten Jobseeker’s Benefit, increase some social insurance contributions, allow larger deductions to recover overpayments, and end employers’ rebates for statutory redundancy payments. It would also change rules for some reduced-rate State pensions and pension contributions, mainly affecting people reaching pension age from 2013 onwards.
Formal long title
