Local Government (Household Charge) (Amendment) Bill 2012

The measure would move the 2012 household charge deadline to 30 September 2012, with no late fees or interest applying before then. People paying in four €25 instalments would pay by 30 September, 31 October, 30 November and 31 December. It would also require the private homes of Government Ministers to be liable for the charge, while keeping exemptions for government buildings, local-authority housing and Health Service Executive properties.

o amend the Local Government (Household Charge) Act 2011 by extending the date for payment of the household charge in the year 2012 to 30 September 2012 and by expressly excluding the private residences of any Government Ministers from the exemptions provided under the 2011 Act
