Protection of Employees (Amendment) Bill 2012

The Protection of Employees (Amendment) Bill 2012 would give workers more warning and consultation before collective redundancies: 60 days in medium-sized companies and 90 days in larger ones. It would require employment-rights hearings and applications to the insolvency fund to be dealt with within 60 days, with regular public updates if delayed, and would allow workers to claim from the fund when an employer has stopped trading without formal liquidation.
