Financial Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (Amendment) Bill 2012

The proposal would cut pay for senior public office-holders and public servants, including judges, ministers, TDs, senators and the President. It would cap most listed salaries at €100,000, set lower limits for TDs and senators, remove various Oireachtas allowances, and apply steep reductions to higher public-service pensions, including full reductions above €100,000 (page 5). It would also end special pension arrangements for current and future Secretaries General and repeal a 2012 order on certain ministers’ allowances.
