Freedom of Information (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2012
Public bill · Private Member · Introduced
The proposal would extend freedom-of-information rules to several organisations, including NAMA, the National Treasury Management Agency, the Road Safety Authority, vocational education committees, and certain functions of the Central Bank, Health and Safety Authority and An Garda Síochána. It would let Oireachtas committees obtain information directly from public bodies on the same terms as an FOI request, cap search and retrieval charges at €500, allow electronic payment, and require newly created public bodies to follow FOI rules.
