Microenterprise Loan Fund Bill 2012

The proposal would create a €10 million Microenterprise Loan Fund, managed by a company set up by the Social Finance Foundation, to offer loans of up to €25,000 to viable start-ups and small businesses employing no more than 10 people that cannot meet banks’ usual lending requirements. It would allow further State funding up to €25 million without new parliamentary approval, set rules for lending and oversight, and require audited accounts and annual reports to Parliament.

Bill entitled an Act to facilitate the lending of money to microenterprises; for that purpose to make provision for a fund to be known as the microenterprise loan fund; to provide for the formation of a company to manage that fund; and to provide for matters connected therewith
