Europol Bill 2012

The Europol Bill 2012 would update Ireland’s arrangements for cooperating with Europol, the EU agency that helps police tackle serious and organised crime, and replace the 1997 and 2006 legislation. It would establish a Garda-based national unit, allow the Gardaí and Revenue Commissioners to share and access information, set rules for correcting or deleting data, and give the Data Protection Commissioner oversight and a role in handling people’s access requests.
