Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Bill 2012

The Bill would require the Government to set maximum limits on total public spending for each of the next three financial years. It would also divide those limits into spending ceilings for individual government departments, covering voted spending and spending from the Social Insurance and National Training Funds. The aim is to improve medium-term budget planning and control.
