Electoral (Amendment) (Dáil Constituencies) Bill 2012

Would reduce the number of TDs from 166 to 158 and reorganise Dáil representation into 40 constituencies instead of 43, following the 2012 Constituency Commission’s review of 2011 Census figures. The new constituencies would have three, four or five TDs each, with the changes taking effect after the next Dáil dissolution.
