Civil Defence Bill 2012

The Civil Defence Bill 2012 would abolish the Civil Defence Board and return responsibility for civil defence to the Minister for Defence and the Department of Defence, repealing the 2002 legislation that created the Board. Staff, property, contracts, legal cases and unfinished work would transfer to the Minister, while local authorities would submit civil defence plans, report on their work and spending, recruit members, and receive government grants.
