Public Health (Tobacco) (Amendment) Bill 2012

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The proposal would require tobacco products to be sold in standardised retail packaging, with regulations setting their size, colour and design. Packs would generally have to be a uniform dark drab brown, while legally required health warnings and other notices could remain. Importing, selling or supplying tobacco products in packaging that did not meet these rules would become an offence; the changes would begin six months after the legislation was passed.

Formal long title
