Child Care (Amendment) Bill 2013

The Child Care (Amendment) Bill 2013 would change the time limits for interim care orders, which allow a child to be placed in care temporarily while longer-term arrangements are considered. It would extend the maximum period from 28 to 29 days without parental consent, allow the order to last longer than 29 days when both the HSE and parents agree, and extend the maximum renewal period from 8 to 29 days without that agreement.
