Motor Vehicle (Duties and Licences) Bill 2013

The Motor Vehicle (Duties and Licences) Bill 2013 would put into permanent law motor-tax and trade-plate fee increases introduced from 1 January 2013. Private cars taxed by emissions would generally rise by €10–€92, while other vehicles and trade-plate licences would increase by 7.5%; electric-vehicle tax would be reduced to €120. It would also introduce revised emissions bands, including a zero-emissions band for private electric vehicles, and set updated rates for vintage and veteran vehicles.
