Poor Relief (Ireland) (Amendment) Bill 2013

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The proposal would change the rules for commercial property rates so that the current occupier is responsible only for rates charged while they occupy the property, not unpaid rates left by a previous occupier. Its aim is to remove a financial deterrent to opening or expanding businesses in town and city centres, encouraging investment, jobs and local economic activity.
