Social Welfare Appeals Bill 2013

Public bill · Private Member · Introduced

The Social Welfare Appeals Bill 2013 would require an appeals officer to decide a social welfare appeal within 60 working days—about three months. If no decision is given by then, the appeal would automatically be treated as successful, unless an extension is approved in exceptional circumstances; the appellant would have to receive written reasons for any delay.

Formal long title

Bill entitled an Act to provide that social welfare appeals will be decided within three months except in the most extenuating circumstances
