Health (Fluoridation of Water Supplies) (Repeal) Bill 2013

The proposal would repeal the 1960 law that allows public water supplies to be fluoridated and make adding fluoride or fluorine to a public water supply an offence. Individuals could face up to 12 months in prison or a fine, while more serious convictions could carry a fine of up to €100,000 and up to five years’ imprisonment; company directors or managers could also be liable where they consented to, or were responsible for, the offence.
