Irish Bank Resolution Corporation Bill 2013
Public bill · Government · Presented
The Bill would put Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC) into a special, accelerated liquidation, appointing a special liquidator and stopping most legal proceedings against it. It would let the Minister for Finance direct NAMA to buy or manage IBRC assets, with independent valuations, while protecting key financial transactions and ensuring deposit-guarantee arrangements continue. Its aim was to wind up IBRC, reduce the State’s exposure to it, support the State’s finances and help restore normal access to international borrowing markets.
Formal long title
Bill entitled an Act to provide for the winding up of IBRC and to provide for connected matters
