Road Traffic Bill 2014

Public bill · Government · Presented

The Road Traffic Bill 2014 would clarify how penalty points are recorded when drivers pay fixed-charge notices for alleged offences. Points would generally be based on the rules in force on the day the offence occurred, while certain offences would remain excluded. It would also require points to be added retrospectively where payments made between 1 August 2014 and the Act’s passage had been reported but the points were not recorded, correcting an administrative and legal gap.
