Redress for Women Resident in Certain Institutions Bill 2014

Women who took part in the redress scheme after living and working in Magdalen laundries or certain similar institutions would receive specified health services free of charge, including GP care, medicines, nursing, home help, dental care, counselling, chiropody and physiotherapy. They would also be exempt from public hospital inpatient charges, and their redress payments would not be counted when assessing what they can afford to pay under the Nursing Homes Support Scheme.

Bill entitled an Act to make provision for the making available without charge of certain health services to certain women who were admitted to and worked in certain institutions; to provide that those women shall not be required to pay charges for acute in-patient services and, for those purposes, to amend the Health Act 1970; to amend the Nursing Homes Support Scheme Act 2009; and to provide for related matters
